Tee Time in Morgan City

We had a great time visiting family in Morgan City this past June. We went to Lynette and Ricky's house for a barbecue and Addison and Elodie had a great time playing on the golf course.
It was a beautiful night and the girls could run freely around while Paige's sweet puppy followed them everywhere.

Gray's 5th Birthday

Gray's birthday party was a swimming/swing set party in El Dorado. Before all the stinky boys arrived Elodie and Gray swam in the pool and tested out his new swing set. We had a great time with family and friends celebrating our precious Gray.

Splish Splash Summer Time Fun

One of our many evenings this summer outside and in the sprinkler.

Elodie is deffinitely a water baby.

14 months

Time is flying by so fast that I missed 13 months and we are already at 14 months. Technically last week she turned 14 months but she hasn't changed that much in a week.
Well sweet girl you are learning new things every day and Daddy and I can't believe how big you are getting.
Here are just a few things you are doing lately:

• You are an amazing sleeper still. You sleep 12 plus hours a night usually from 8 pm to 8:30 am. You fidget all through the night but don't wake up. I have to laugh at some of the positions I find you in. You take a long morning nap usually around 11 and most days you don't sleep in the afternoon. You get pretty fussy around 4 to 5 but I try my best no to let you sleep then. You are great about playing in your crib when you are going to sleep and waking up.
• You have 8 teeth now and just got your first set of molars last week. That was tough on you. You ran fever and had a runny nose and you were very uncomfortable. You actually began to say yum yum when you saw the Ibuprofen bottle.
• You NEVER stop moving! You are always walking around in circles from one thing to the next. You are a busy bee and into everything. I have to put you in your high chair just to get you to stop and rest for a moment.
• You are starting to dance when you hear music and you march behind daddy when he taps on your trash can when he empties each night. It's fun to watch the two of you march around the house.
• You love to be chased and giggle the entire time.
• You still love your vegetables and right now you are loving fresh squash and zucchini. You also love chicken, rice, yogurt, oatmeal, grits but not a fan of fruit. I think it is a texture thing with you. I still keep trying though.
• You are obsessed with the dog bowl and I find you splashing in Huntley's water bowl several times a day. When I scold you you think it is a game. Not a good sign.
• When you don't get what you want you throw a fit and thrash around on the ground. I just let you and walk away and within 5 seconds you're on to the next thing.
• Words you are saying: shoe, ball, baby, Gray, Daddy, Momma, KK, dog, duck, cat, eye, two, keys
• You make animals sounds for cow, dog, and duck
• You can recognize and point to eyes, nose, and mouth
• The only thing you will sit still for are books. I am surprised at how long you will look at books on your own or sit and listen to us read to you. When I was recently sick with the stomach bug you played with your books on the flood around me for 2 hours.
• You are very inquisitive and study things and people around you. You never cease to amaze me.

Daddy and I love every moment with you and are so grateful to the Lord for blessing us with you!

Cousin Camp

Katie used to always tell us that growing up all the cousins would get together in the summer and have cousin camp. We always dreamed about the day when our kids would get to have cousin camp together. Now is that day. Gray is staying in Shreveport a few days this week so we took him and Elodie to the park yesterday. They have a small area where jets of water spray from pipes and the kids love to run through this. Gray and Elodie had no trouble with the idea of running through and getting wet. I was proud of my Little munchkin. She wasn't afraid at all.

Picnic Fun

The Harwell/Blanchards helped celebrate the 60th anniversary of St. Paul's this weekend with lots of fun events. Doug and Martha cam e from Houston and Scott and Gray came in from El Dorado. I was in New Orleans Friday and Saturday but I got to enjoy the fun with the gang on Sunday. Friday night the family went to watch a movie on the front lawn of the church drive-in style. Jeffrey said Elodie was so enthralled with it all that she stayed up late and watched the entire movie. On Saturday the boys played in the church golf tournament and when I asked if they won a trophy, Jeff informed me they won the beer trophy. Even Gray got in on the action and loved driving the cart with his dad and Papa. The bionic uncle Scott still can out drive anyone----300 yards at a time!

And what can be said about these two. Not hard to believe they won the beer trophy is it?

Sunday after church was a parish wide picnic with bouncers and water slides, dunking booths, live music, great food and wonderful fellowship. Daddy even hit a home run in the youth vs. adults softball game! Gray loved the bouncers as you can see!

Elodie and Victoria Palmer love each other. They pat each other's faces and have their own baby conversations. They are so sweet to each other. They are going to be great friends growing up together at St. Paul's.

It was a wonderful celebration of our immediate family and church family at St, Paul's. God is so faithful to his people and he received all the glory this weekend!

Pretty

Elodie loves getting into all my jewelry boxes so to distract her from my jewelry my mom has been giving her all kinds of "play" jewelry. Whenever my mom says pretty, Elodie puts on the necklaces and says ahhhh. My mom also taught her how to put on a bracelet but she gets very frustrated when trying to pull it off. Probably not a good thing to get her hooked on jewelry at such a young age. Her future husband will have his work cut out for him.

Old McDonald

Elodie's new love is anything related to a farm and farm animals. She sings along with me to Old McDonald and sings loudly E-I-E-I-O! So we got her this playschool farm with all the animals and she plays with it all day long. The animals travel with us whenever we go anywhere and they get cleaned every night when it's bath time. And you can guess which one is her favorite---the sheep! She also loves watching the Baby Einstein video about farms and neighborhood animals. It hypnotizes her! She is learning her animals sounds and so far she says moo and quack. I got her some farm magnets to play with while I'm cooking in the kitchen but instead of playing with them in the kitchen she carries as many as she can from room to room. Whatever makes her happy!

Notice the crocs. The only shoes that fit on her extra-extra wide feet. She likes to put all the animals in the tower and then lift up the door and watch them fall out.
